How are Visual SLAM +TOF used in Cleaning Robots?

A critical component of cleaning robots application is the navigation system, which helps cleaning robots sense and map their environment to move around efficiently. This typically, although not always, involves a motion sensor such as VSLAM or tof to create a map for the robot.

VSLAM is a vision-based synchronous positioning and map construction. TOF means that the sensor emits modulated near-infrared light, which is reflected when it encounters an object. The sensor calculates the time difference or phase difference between light emission and reflection to convert the distance of the photographed scene to generate depth information. In addition, combined with traditional camera shooting, The three-dimensional outline of the object can be presented as a topographic map with different colors representing different distances. The close cooperation of VSLAM+TOF technology will undoubtedly greatly improve the positioning accuracy of the sweeping robot.
